As a professional portrait photographer, I have the pleasure of capturing some of the most beautiful and fleeting moments of life. One thing I have observed over the years that I’ve been a professional photographer is the curiosity of children; their wide-eyed wonder at the world around them is simply magical. It’s one of the reasons I love working with families. With summer around the corner, I thought I would share some ideas for creative, family-friendly photography-themed activities to entertain your little ones, help them nurture their creative flair and perhaps, even spark an To View More >>

Welcome to the Babies By Jackie Studio!  Located in the historic village of Hemingbrough, the studio was once a pig sty (hence the name!). But don't worry there's only one little piggy there now :-)  Relax in our cosy sitting area where you can see your baby and they can see you at all times. Chill out on our super comfortable sofa, while I take care of your little one. You can even have forty winks if you like - you won't be the first! Coronavirus Update (23rd March 2020) It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that the studio is now closed until further notice. In order to protect the health and safety of all of my clients and my family, we have decided to go into lockdown. However, I am also pleased to announce a brand new service that I am currently putting together for new parents and parents-to-be. I know how important the images of your precious baby are to you and that newborns don’t stay newborn for long. So  if your baby is due/born during the next few months, don’t worry I have come up with To View More >>

Although older people and those with pre-existing medical conditions (such as diabetes, asthma and heart disease) are more vulnerable to becoming severely ill with COVID-19, the virus can infect people of all ages.  Newborns and pregnant women are always considered at risk and therefore we must collectively protect each other. I want to re-assure all of my clients that I follow good hygiene practice at all times to keep you and your babies safe, but at this time, I would like to take a moment to re-iterate the most important points and a couple of extra measures that I have put in place for To View More >>

OMG! I am so excited! The results of the RISE International Photography Awards were announced today and seven of my eight entries received a BRONZE award!  This particular photography competition means so much for a number of reasons - not least the calibre of the judging panel. The judges are some of the best and most reknowned photographers in the world, so to receive positive comments from them really means a lot!  And so to the images.... To View More >>

I get a lot of people asking when they should book their newborn photo session, and my answer is always the same: before baby arrives and the sooner the better! The ideal time to confirm your booking is towards the end of the second trimester, when you have had most of your scans and you have a reasonably accurate due date. “But what if my baby arrives early or late?” Don’t worry, it happens all the time! When you book your newborn photo session, the exact date is only provisional. It lets me balance my workload so I can guarantee your baby’s photo session will happen within To View More >>

Wow - what a year 2018 has been! Receiving a bronze award in the RISE photography awards, was definitely one of the highlights of my year. A bronze award in my first international competition, judged by some of the most amazing photographers around the world is an incredible achievement.  In October, I received confirmation of my qualification with the Accredited Professional Newborn Photographers International (APNPI). I am the first newborn photographer in England to achieve this international accolade!  Of course, my biggest news of the year was finally finding my perfect To View More >>
